On-site training of personnel will include demonstrations of the following:
- Patient positioning of exams
- Setting techniques
- Use of markers
- Correctly hanging radiographs
- Proper patient care
- Setting manual versus automatic techniques
- Basic performance characteristics of the x-ray unit
- Cassettes and grids
- Digital imaging processing
- Completion of image critique to review radiographic quality
- Review of QA standards
These training services will be performed while working with staff during regular working hours at your facility to ensure no down time or loss of productivity.
The following is just an example of the details that will be part of the training:
On-site consulting services will provide specific patient positioning that is tailored to your facility. The consultants will demonstrate proper positioning for each view including correct centering, marker placement and shielding. Each image will be discussed in detail by a follow-up critique to determine acceptable quality factors.
Basic performance characteristics of the x-ray machine will be demonstrated to include setting proper technical factors such as milliampere-seconds (mAs) and kilovoltage (kVp) settings. Proper increase and decrease of these factors and how density and contrast affect radiographs will be reviewed. Technique charts will be developed to ensure consistent radiographic quality. And proper use of distances (SID and OID) will be explained and demonstrated for each view.
Our consultants will demonstrate the proper use of image receptors for each projection to ensure the correct size and positioning for each view. The appropriate use of grids will be discussed to produce optimum radiographs to reduce grid cut-off and other artifacts.
Your facility will be equipped with a notebook to reference the quality assurance program.
